The death of a parent or loved one can be overwhelming to anyone, but it can also open the heart to a vast wealth of memories. This story is just that; a weaving together of events, rumors and factual accounts as passed down through generations of relatives and friends in order to fill in the blanks and fill out the characters and bring them back to life for future generations.
The Memory Keepers is primarily a love story; the love between a couple overshadowed by a curse, the love of family and love hidden in the folds of another land. It is a story fringed with pain and tragedy brought about by an unspeakable crime and the need of a young girl growing into womanhood to find a clearer knowledge of her identity and a richer history from which to call upon, all the while making friends with the ghosts that had taken up residence in her heart.
The crime related is a true event as documented, but because of the events involved, the names of the protagonists have been veiled slightly to protect their privacy.
